Motorola SLVR L7 review

Motorola SLVR L7

The Motorola SLVR is thinner than the Motorola RAZR, the trend setter in terms of thin mobile phones, but is slightly thicker than its cousin the Motorola L6. The styling is very similar to the Motorola L6, with toughened glass and the infamous metallic keypad, yet it packs a few more features.

The screen on the Motorola SLVR is of high quality for its price range with a 262K display. It comes with an average VGA camera and video recorder, don’t leave your digital camera at home just yet! One advantage of the SLVR over the L6 is the built in MP3 player that can handle both MP3 and AAC formats.

The SLVR supports Bluetooth connectivity as well as USB. However there is no infared support with this phone. If you are looking to use this phone as an MP3 player, you will need to purchase a Transflash memory card which are available up to 512 Mbytes.

Overall this is a handy little phone, with enough features to get you through your working day. Battery life is good, it looks cool and will serve you well for the duration of your contract.

Motorola L6 review

Motorola L6

If you are looking for a phone on a budget then the Motorola L6 is a brilliant phone to purchase. It is the follow-on from the popular Motorola RAZR V3 flip phone and as you would expect, is incredibly thin, 10.9 mm to be precise. Its shape is that of a more conventional mobile phone, so if you like traditional styling over flip or slider phones the L6 is well worth considering.

The Motorola L6 brings the keypad of the V3 with it. The metallic look was popular so popular on the V3 that Motorola have decided to roll the design out onto a number of their latest handsets. Toughened glass ensures that the screen doesn’t get scratched too easily when it is in your pocket or handbag.

The screen is STN rather than TFT, so resolution and picture quality can be somewhat problematic. But it does have an inbuilt camera, video camera and MP3 ringtones, although an MP3 player has been omitted. The L6 also comes with Bluetooth connectivity.

If you are not bothered about having lots of features on your phone, I would recommend taking out a phone contract with this phone. Because it is so cheap you will often find providers looking to offer large cashback offers on tariffs with this mobile phone.

Overall if you are looking for a mobile phone that is practical and reliable then this is an excellent buy. There are some excellent contract offers available on the Motorola L6 so make sure that you shop around.

Motorola KRZR K1 Review

Motorola KRZR K1

The Motorola KRZR K1 is the successor to the infamous RAZR, the phone that made slim mobiles the thing to have. The KRZR K1 is slimmer than The RAZR and has a shiny new casing that adds a little extra panache.

The RAZOR set the trend for slim phones and as a result a number of the big manufacturers followed suite. This made the RAZR seem outdated and Motorola needed to think fast if it was to maintain its reputation as the “slim phone” manufacturer. The result is the KRZR K1, at first glance not too much has changed apart from the dimensions, a changed that is welcomed by some.

The reflective glass looks great when you first get it out of the box, however we found that after a few weeks use the surface can look tired and scratches easily. There have been reports of screens smashing easily, although we have not experienced this on any models that we have used.

The specs have been updated on the Motorola KRZR K1 as well. The tired camera on the RAZR has been replaced with a 2megapixel version, although there is no flash. The screen is 262,000 colours, with 176 X 220 pixels, but visibility reduces in direct sunlight..

There is an inbuilt MP3 player that supports AAC and AAC+ formats. There is only 20 MB of internal memory, but you can expand this to 2GB with a TransFlash memory card. Connectivity options are Bluetooth and USB, although Infared is sadly missing.

Overall, a stylish phone that RAZR owners will definitely be interested in. Why not check out the Motorola KRZR1 on contract and compare deals?
