The Motorola KRZR K1 is the successor to the infamous RAZR, the phone that made slim mobiles the thing to have. The KRZR K1 is slimmer than The RAZR and has a shiny new casing that adds a little extra panache.
The RAZOR set the trend for slim phones and as a result a number of the big manufacturers followed suite. This made the RAZR seem outdated and Motorola needed to think fast if it was to maintain its reputation as the “slim phone” manufacturer. The result is the KRZR K1, at first glance not too much has changed apart from the dimensions, a changed that is welcomed by some.
The reflective glass looks great when you first get it out of the box, however we found that after a few weeks use the surface can look tired and scratches easily. There have been reports of screens smashing easily, although we have not experienced this on any models that we have used.
The specs have been updated on the Motorola KRZR K1 as well. The tired camera on the RAZR has been replaced with a 2megapixel version, although there is no flash. The screen is 262,000 colours, with 176 X 220 pixels, but visibility reduces in direct sunlight..
There is an inbuilt MP3 player that supports AAC and AAC+ formats. There is only 20 MB of internal memory, but you can expand this to 2GB with a TransFlash memory card. Connectivity options are Bluetooth and USB, although Infared is sadly missing.
Overall, a stylish phone that RAZR owners will definitely be interested in. Why not check out the Motorola KRZR1 on contract and compare deals?
