Adidas miCoach for Samsung F110

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Taking a leaf out of Ipod and Nike’s book, Samsung have joined forces with Adidas, by releasing the miCoach. This handy little device allows you to monitor your heart rate and has a stride sensor to ensure that you are training at an optimum level. There is also a web application that allows you to create effective training schedules to ensure you are on the right track.

It also comes with blog uploading capabilites, so you can monitor and track all your latest activity quickly and efficiently. This is ahandy niche product that will suit the more athletic kind of person. However it would be better if you could buy the miCoach as a standalone unit and apply it to any samsung phone. We think it would go quite well with the G800 or the G600 as the F110 sadly lacks 3G capabilities.

Nokia N96 is a step further towards convergence

Monday, March 10th, 2008

I know that this blog has been a little static of late I can only apologise for that. I am now going to try and post on it every other day with news from the mobile phone world. The start of the year is usually pretty static for new handset releases, but we have got some really exciting mobile phones to look forward to during 2008. None more special than the Nokia N96, this is the first handset to come complete with a built in digital TV tuner. Sadly it looks like this feature will not be supported in the UK, but it is a massive step forward in terms of technology.

I think the thing to recognize here is convergence. It was always the way that multimedia was going to go, what with internet TV, online radio and mobile internet. The future will eventually see us able to access any form of media from any device, with each channel personalised to our personal tastes. Whether you think this is right or wrong will be a big debate in the future, indeed it is a hot topic at the moment and one that is growing in momentum with each passing day. Do you think that it is right for a company to collect data from you internet browsing, phone calling, social networking activity, GPS location and offer you products and services more tailored to you? I would be interested to know.

In a way this whole topic deserves a post in itself and I may in fact do that later this week. In the meantime check out the specifications of the Nokia N96 on Nokia’s site.

T-Mobile goes crazy, slashing 25% off its Flext tariffs

Friday, September 7th, 2007

If like me you are feeling utterly disappointed by the non-eventful summer that we have experienced this year, do not despair. T-Mobile is making an offer that will brighten up those Autumnal blues. To keep our spirits high they are offering up to 25% off all Flext tariffs. There is no better time to get on board with T-mobile, the only network to offer a completely flexible tariff when it comes to your call allowance.

In case you didn’t know, Flext works by providing you with a certain value of credit per month. For example, you pay £20 per month and T-mobile will give you £34 of credit to spend on either texts are calls. If your text or call volumes vary significantly month on month then Flext can help you keep well within your monthly budget.

Flext offer a great range of mobile phones to go along with their fantastic tariffs. Our pick is the Nokia 6300 which is free on all monthly price plans. Click here to find out more.

For a limited period T-mobile are offering up to 25% off the monthly cost off their Flext tariffs, so instead of paying £20 per month, you only pay £15. But hurry, this offer won’t be around for long. Grab yourself a huge saving on your monthly mobile phone contract.
