LG Electronics, one of the worldwide leader in technology and design have announced the launch of LG KF700 – a multimedia phone that has user-optimized navigation, making all of the phone’s features and functions instantly accessible.

The main attraction of the LG KF700 is its 3-inch LCD touch screen. The screen allows you to perform a variety of functions. These functions include sending e-mail messages as well as typing text. You can also shoot still photographs and video.

The touch screen of the LG KF700 is very responsive. The screen would vibrate whenever a user will enter a command. This feature will provide you with a better experience with a touch screen phone. This feature also activates while typing in a phone number or an SMS text message.

The alphabetic or numeric keypad on the screen works like a standard phone keypad, but with no mechanical buttons. It also has a 5.1 mega pixel camera with features like smart light, ISO 800, AF, MF, and Image stabilizer.

The LG KF700 has camera modes and functions that are already similar to the ones present in compact digital cameras. You can adjust the image size as well as the picture quality. An option for white balance is also present, as well as reduction of blur with the digital stabilization feature.

The very best feature of this mobile phone is the photo editing function. This function helps to add text, music, and some morphing effects to the pictures taken. A sliding disc surrounds the phone’s camera lens. This disc will help you to scroll through menus, and will also allow you to zoom in and out of web pages. You can even adjust the camera zoom and call volume.

The LG KF700 will let you shoot videos with 120 frames per second. The videos can also be uploaded using a stylus pen for easy operations.

Emirates became the first ever commercial flight to allow users to use their mobile phone during a flight. The Emirates plane was an Airbus A340 and flew between Dubai and Casablanca. The aircraft was fitted with a system that stopped mobile phones from interferig with navigational equipment, whilst the plane was airborne.

The feature allows mobile phone users to make calls, send text messages and even send and receive emails via their Blackberry. The cabin crew can enable and disable the feature whenever they feel that it is appropriate. A spokesman from Emirates airlines said that they would be switching off the ability to make calls during evening flights, although text and email features would remain active whilst at cruising altitudes.

This is a huge step forward in terms of mobile phone technology. Traditionally if a user wanted to make a call on a plane, they would need to use a pre-paid satellite connection, this new technology changes everything.

Some people have always said that mobile phones do not disrupt aircraft navigation equipment, however this new technology makes doubly sure that nothing can go wrong. Yes now you can use your shiny new Nokia N96 whilst flying, what could be better than tha?

So what has changed on this device, other than the colour. Well one feature that seems to be all the rage at the moment is Geo tagging. This allows users to take photographs and the phone then tags your position via its built in GPS sytem. You can then search through your photographs via location, handyt hey?

We can expect to see many more Nokia devices support this feature in the near future as more devices come complete with GPS. Already the much awaited Nokia N96 is sais to have this feature.

Taking a leaf out of Ipod and Nike’s book, Samsung have joined forces with Adidas, by releasing the miCoach. This handy little device allows you to monitor your heart rate and has a stride sensor to ensure that you are training at an optimum level. There is also a web application that allows you to create effective training schedules to ensure you are on the right track.

It also comes with blog uploading capabilites, so you can monitor and track all your latest activity quickly and efficiently. This is ahandy niche product that will suit the more athletic kind of person. However it would be better if you could buy the miCoach as a standalone unit and apply it to any samsung phone. We think it would go quite well with the G800 or the G600 as the F110 sadly lacks 3G capabilities.

Sony Ericsson a re looking to bolster their smart phone offering with the introduction of the G700 and the G900. Both phones are identical in appearance, with the differences being that the G900 sports a healthier 5 mega pixel camera, compared to the G700’s 3.2 mega pixel offering, the G900 also has WIFI connectivity, which is a particularly nice addition in our opinion. They are the smallest and lightest UIQ phones that Sony Ericsson have produced making them more pocket sized than previous mobile phones, that they have produced.

The G900 and G700 both come with touch screens, but they have sensibly decided not to do away with the keypad as LG have done for the viewty and Samsung have done with the F700. This of course means that you can operate nearly all of the phone’s functionality by using the keypad.

A really intuitive feature is the post-it note application that allows you to write little memo’s and stick them to your screen. You than have the ability to send them via MMS or email to work colleagues. Coupled with handwriting recognition with the touch screen interface, it makes it very easy to jot things down whenever you want wherever you are. Both the G900 and the G700 are aimed at a more sophisticated audience, who are more practical in thinking. This is an area that Sony Ericsson has typically been fairly weak in, where its walkman and cybershot series has often flourished. Time will tell if these 2 phones will hit the mark.

It seems like the world is going touchscreen crazy at the moment. Sony Ericsson has joined the party with the introduction of the G900. The G900 is a complete multimedia device that will support picture blogging, mobile internet and media management. A lot of the features are similar to those found in the sony ericsson k850i, with the exception being that the touchscreen will cover the entire screen rather than just the bottom. In theory this will allow you to jot notes down using the included stylus, there is no need for pen and paper any longer.

The G900 will come with a 5 mega pixel camera, which is a little disappointing, we were hoping that it would improve on the k850i’s rather standard 5MP offering, but sadly it’s not to be. The G900 is due to be released in Q2 of 2008!

The iphone has a new target market in sight… gamers! The announcement earlier this week that gameloft the worlds largest game retailer has committed to producing games for the iphone throughout 2008. Gamers are seen as the last corner of the market, with no company really standing out as a market leader in this field.

It’s funny but we are back to the convergence issue once again. Where digital cameras in phones are now at a point where you could leave your standalone device at home when you go on a night out, it seems that gaming hasn’t quite made it yet. Nokia has tried it with the Ngage and more recently the N81, but neither have really set the gaming world on fire. If you look at the Sony PSP, it does one thing and one thing well, sadly it seems that mobile phones are some way off from offering the convergence that we have seen in other areas

I know that this blog has been a little static of late I can only apologise for that. I am now going to try and post on it every other day with news from the mobile phone world. The start of the year is usually pretty static for new handset releases, but we have got some really exciting mobile phones to look forward to during 2008. None more special than the Nokia N96, this is the first handset to come complete with a built in digital TV tuner. Sadly it looks like this feature will not be supported in the UK, but it is a massive step forward in terms of technology.

I think the thing to recognize here is convergence. It was always the way that multimedia was going to go, what with internet TV, online radio and mobile internet. The future will eventually see us able to access any form of media from any device, with each channel personalised to our personal tastes. Whether you think this is right or wrong will be a big debate in the future, indeed it is a hot topic at the moment and one that is growing in momentum with each passing day. Do you think that it is right for a company to collect data from you internet browsing, phone calling, social networking activity, GPS location and offer you products and services more tailored to you? I would be interested to know.

In a way this whole topic deserves a post in itself and I may in fact do that later this week. In the meantime check out the specifications of the Nokia N96 on Nokia’s site.

If like me you are feeling utterly disappointed by the non-eventful summer that we have experienced this year, do not despair. T-Mobile is making an offer that will brighten up those Autumnal blues. To keep our spirits high they are offering up to 25% off all Flext tariffs. There is no better time to get on board with T-mobile, the only network to offer a completely flexible tariff when it comes to your call allowance.

In case you didn’t know, Flext works by providing you with a certain value of credit per month. For example, you pay £20 per month and T-mobile will give you £34 of credit to spend on either texts are calls. If your text or call volumes vary significantly month on month then Flext can help you keep well within your monthly budget.

Flext offer a great range of mobile phones to go along with their fantastic tariffs. Our pick is the Nokia 6300 which is free on all monthly price plans. Click here to find out more.

For a limited period T-mobile are offering up to 25% off the monthly cost off their Flext tariffs, so instead of paying £20 per month, you only pay £15. But hurry, this offer won’t be around for long. Grab yourself a huge saving on your monthly mobile phone contract.
