WIN a HTC One X

a close up with the blackberry pearl flip 8220

Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220Ok, so the Blackberry Pearl and Pearl 2 are doing well sales wise and recently Blackberry released a new phone called the Blackberry pearl flip 8220. This phone is aesthetically pleasing and is a very light weight phone when compared with other Blackberries. However, while the design and look and feel of the phone is good, the features aren’t all that different from previous Blackberries and if anything they’re worse. The processor is slower and the camera is not as good but I guess that this was needed in order to fit it into a smaller phone; personally I’m not sold yet. There are a few Blackberry pearl flip 8220 deals available which are pretty good though.

So the Blackberry pearl flip 8220 contract phone is a good idea but it doesn’t really say Blackberry to me. I’m a huge fan of Blackberry phones and am very familiar with the Blackberry Bold but I think that this phone has slightly ruined Blackberries rep. The design of the handset is good but the features are lacking and the screen resolution specifically is very poor. Video quality and photo quality is very poor when compared with other Blackberry phones and I think it’s a bit of a wasted project. Blackberry phones are supposed to be large and be filled with high tech features.

I think that many Blackberry pearl flip 8220 reviews will agree that this phone is just an image and doesn’t work well as a flip phone. The track ball for example is too sunken down but I guess because of the design it had to be. I’m quite disappointed really and although I was skeptical about the announcement of a flip phone from Blackberry, I wasn’t expecting it to be this bad. Having said all that, it is a nice change from the large and bulky Blackberry phones – it’s just a shame that the idea hasn’t quite worked out as well as I’m sure they planned.
