Nokia Comes with Music (aka CWM) was released in the UK on the 16th of October, 2008 and is due for release in the United States and other countires early in 2009. So, I hear you asking, what exactly is comes with music? Well, in simple terms comes with music is the ability to download music from Nokia’s Music Store directly to your mobile phone.
For example, lets take a Nokia 5310 Comes With Music contract, this gives the the user the ability to download an unlimited amount of music from a huge collection of (5 million or so) music tracks available in Nokia’s Music Store. The unlimited download is available from the whole length of the contract, be it a 5310 Comes With Music 12 or 18 month contract.
The Comes with Music subscription service, not only gives you the ability to download an unlimited suply of music while the subscription is live (i.e. the length of the contract), but also keep all downloaded tracks after the subscription has expired, be it on a phone or PC. The subscription is a on off fee when the contract is purchased, therefore there is no on ongoing subscription fees.
Nokia have really pushed the boat out with the amazing Comes with music service. This is expected to really increase Nokia handset sales over the forthcoming months as it is in direct competition with the huge iPod and iTunes market. As the Comes with music service does not require any PC docking in order to transfer or purchase music, all I am going to say is watch this space….
