It’s that time of the year that most of us have started to real in the purse string. Not only has Christmas been and gone, but we are also in the middle of the credit crunch.
If you are looking to make a New Year purchase, you should really be looking around to make sure that you are getting the best deal available. However, I am a big believer in going to the high street and buying something I like the look of and not something that I know I wanted prior to leaving the house.
Therefore, finding the best deal while out and about is really quite annoying…. or should I say, was until now! There is a great application developed for the Android platform (developed by search engine giant Google), which allows you the ability to actually compare the prices of absolutely anything while on the move. Obviously, this app will only be available to those of us who have a phone which uses Android OS, which at present is only the T-mobile G1.
How it works?
All you need to do is hold the phone’s camera to any barcode and then the app will take over. ShopSavvy will scan the barcode, analyse and pull back some very interesting information. You will see:
1. The cost of the item at local shops
2. The cost of the item online
3. Item reviews
4. Ability to save the item to your wish list
5. Ability to set an item alert. If the items price drops to the price that you entered, then you will be altered.
This amazing application can be downloaded for free from the Android Marketplace. and im glad to say this is something that you cants get on your Apple iPhone!
