Vodafone customers are being offered 6 months free access to their new TV service Babelgum. The catch? Well first of all you need to own a either a Nokia N96, Nokia N95 8gb, or a Nokia 6210 to gain access to the application, but it does mean that users will be able to download music videos and hit BBC Series such as The office.
Vodafone is also keen to promote social networking with its Babelgum application, allowing users to upload their own content to sites like facebook. Vodafone says it plans to use the channel to run competitions using the service, encouraging customers to upload and promote their online content more than ever. It will be interesting to see if the other networks follow suit.
There are plans to roll the application out to more handsets in the near future, although at the time of writing there is no indication as to how much the service will cost once the initial free trial period is over. And if you are wondering as we are, we are sure that the Babelgum application will be compatible with your Nokia N97 contract should you decide to wait for this handset to be released later this year.
