HTC has announced that the Magic G2 will be available soon. But that’s all we know for sure at this point, as competitors such as Motorola, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson prepare to launch their own Android-network compatible smart phones. If you’re hoping to investigate HTC Magic G2 contracts you may have to wait for a bit.
The only existing smart phone with Android functions is the Tmobile G1, which was released in fall 2008. Internet gossip states the HTC Magic G2 is supposed to be released by summer 2009, but who knows for sure? There is also rumor of a G3 release, but considering only reliable sites like Best Mobile Contracts, it may be way too early to even think about a third HTC Android smart phone release.
Wishful thinking has me owning this new G2 phone today, with its possible touch screen features, 3.2 megapixel digital camera that may even be able to focus pictures, and of course, amazing data capabilities. But unfortunately, HTC Magic G2 is nothing for sure beyond a press release from the cell phone network and some rumors that they will make HTC Magic G2 with free gifts available.
Some say it might just be a software upgrade to the G1, which was well-received by more than a million users with a few software glitch complaints, but I find that a little hard to believe. I would think Tmobile would choose to just have users of the G1 update their software from their smart phone rather than demand they go buy a brand new phone just to get a software upgrade. I think the G2 is actually going to represent a new generation of contract mobile phones. Maybe they just want to try to get more people onto the Android craze before their competitors Motorola, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson launch their own products. After all, there is no monopoly on Android because it is available on the open market. So with bated breath, I’m going to keep visiting Best Mobile Contracts and hope to learn more soon, especially since it’s said that you’ll be able to get the HTC Magic G2 on Vodafone.
