A Detailed Review of the Nokia 6121 Classic

June 9th, 2009 by Best Mobile Contracts
Nokia-6121-ClassicAt first glance, you wouldn’t think that the Nokia 6121 Classic was actually a Smartphone. It is very light and compact and it would be very easy to mistake it with one of Nokia’s older mobile models. Moreover, the launch price of the Nokia 6121 Classic (around £220 plus taxes) made it the cheapest Smartphone at that time. It had the same launch price as the Nokia 6300, which was a non-smart phone.

The word “classic” was added to avoid confusing the Nokia 6121 with the Nokia 6120 which was a model manufactured a few seasons prior to the 6121’s release.

Phone Specs
Nokia-6121-ClassicWeighing only 89g and measuring 105 x 46 x 15 mm, the Nokia 6121 Classic continues to be one of the smallest Smartphones in the market today. It has a 2-inch screen with a 240 x 320-pixel resolution. It has a standard Li-Ion 890 mAh battery that will last up to 250 hours on stand-by and should provide around 3 hours worth of talk time. The 6121 also comes with a 1600 x 1200 resolution 2-Megapixel camera with an LED flash. It also has a secondary VGA camera on top of the screen that makes it capable of video calling.

In Detail
Aside from having a microSD memory card slot that allows up to 8GB of storage, the Nokia 6121 Classic also has 32MB of internal storage. It also supports 3G HSDPA, HSCSD, GPRS, and EDGE technologies. Like most Nokia phones, the 6121 runs on a Symbian OS (version 9.2) and what makes it run smoothly is its 369MHz processor. The Nokia 6121 Classic also allows its users to access the net via Java support and a web browser that has WAP2.0 and xHTML capabilities.

The Nokia 6121 Classic was released in February 2008, and even then it was reasonably priced. Today, you can get a brand new unit of this model for just over £100.
