The actual launch price of the Samsung S5600 is yet to be revealed. However, some predict that it will be around the 300-pound region. This is actually a reasonable price for a Smartphone that combines simplicity, functionality, and stylishness. Together with the Samsung S5230, the S5600 is Samsung’s attempt to quash the highly successful LG Cookie. The Samsung S650 is set to be released this May. Appearance and Basic Functions
The Samsung S5600 is a lightweight mobile. Its dimensions are 102.8 x 54.8 x 12.9 mm and weighs only 92 grams. The S5600 comes in two colour variations: pearl white and absolute black. It has 2.8-inch TFT capacitive touch screen that displays 16M colours. The screen also boasts Samsung’s Gesture Lock feature as well as an accelerometer sensor to facilitate the auto-rotate function. The Samsung S5600 has an acceptable 3.15-Megapixel, LED flash-capable camera that integrates smile detection and geo-tagging features. The S5600 can also take QVGA videos at 15fps. It also has a secondary camera that allows video calling.The Samsung S5600 has SMS, MMS, and Email support while its browser is compatible with WAP 2.0/xHTML and HTML. Aside from an FM radio with RDS support, this Smartphone also has A-GPS and Java (MIDP 2.0) support.
Getting Technical
The Samsung S5600 works in both the 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) and 3G (HSDPA 900/2100) networks. It has Bluetooth and Class 12 GPRS and EDGE support, but it will not allow users to access the internet via Wi-Fi.
The internal memory is not very impressive at only 80MB, but you can add a microSD memory card as big as 16GB. The Samsung S5600 has a standard 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery which means that it should last for several hours without the need to connect it to a power source.
