samsung-i7500-angleIn around a month’s time Samsung will be releasing its latest Smartphone that is set to challenge the undeniable success of the Apple iPhone. Together with other models such as the Samsung S5230 and the Samsung 5600, the I7500 is just one of the Smartphones Samsung intends to release during the second quarter of this year. However, some experts are saying that the Samsung I7500 may be the pick of the bunch; here are some of the reasons why.

The Phone
The Samsung I7500 is a bit thinner than the iPhone (11.9 mm vs. the iPhone’s 12.3 mm) and much of its 115 x 56 mm surface area is dominated by its 3.2-inch OLED capacitive touch screen. The screen has a handwriting recognition feature and is also equipped with an accelerometer sensor for the auto-rotate function. The I7500 comes in only one color, black, and has a very sleek and attractive design.

Although the I7500 does not have a secondary camera, its primary camera has an impressive 5-Megapixel resolution and is capable of producing photographs of up to 2592 x 1944 pixels. Other features of the camera include autofocus, an LED flash, and geo-tagging. You can store these photos on the i7550’s 40GB memory (8GB internal and 32GB maximum external via a microSD card slot).

The Features and Functions
As expected the Samsung i7500 supports the latest versions of all the types of data transfer modes—GPRS, HSCSD, EDGE, 3G (HSDPA/HSUPA), WLAN, and Bluetooth. It is one of the first Smartphones that utilizes Google’s Android OS and it will be running the 1.5 version of the new operating system. The i7550 is capable of SMS, MMS, Email, and IM; its browser supports HTML.

Some built-in applications on the Samsung I7500 allow support for Google Talk, Gmail, Google Search, Google Maps, and YouTube, among other things. It will be released at an initial price of around £260.
