Although the initial version of Google’s Android Operating System was first seen in the T-Mobile G1 handset released October of last year, the Samsung I7500 is one of, if not the first mobile to feature version 1.5 of this advanced operating system. Along with the HTC Magic and the HTC dream, the I7500 is one of the few Smartphones of 2009 that is powered by the Android OS.The Pros
Samsung is known for producing handsets that are both sleek and slim; the I7500 definitely falls in this category. It is one of the thinnest Smartphones in the market today with dimensions of 115 x 26 x 11.9 mm.
Despite being as small as it is, the Samsung I7500 still comes equipped with a standard 3.5mm ear jack. For the music buffs, this means there is no need to get an adapter and any standard headphone can be plugged to the I7500. Making the Samsung I7500 a more credible entertainment device is its 40GB maximum memory capacity. It has an internal memory of 8GB and a microSD card slot that allows up to 32GB of external memory. The Samsung I7500 is also equipped with a 5-Megapixel camera with an LED flash, autofocus, and geo-tagging functionality. Samsung is also reputable for making mobiles that produce excellent photos; take for instance the Samsung INNOV8 that boasts an 8-Megapixel camera. Although not as advanced, the I7500 is able to hold its own in terms of photography.
Priced at only £260, the Samsung I7500 is reasonably priced.
The Cons
Samsung is proud of the fact that the I7500 makes use of a 3.2-inch AMOLED touch screen as it is known for being battery efficient, among other things. However, previous experiences have shown some difficulties when using this type of display technology under direct sunlight. It is sometimes difficult to see the contents of the screen when exposed to sunlight. This however, is the only obvious downside of the Samsung I7500 and it seems that in this case, the good outweighs the bad.
