Oh Snap! Here Comes HTC’s Newest Smartphone

June 23rd, 2009 by Best Mobile Contracts
HTC-Snap-Front-and-BackAlthough the HTC Snap is yet to be released (according to HTC they intend to release it sometime in May), early reviews are already singing their praises for this impressive Smartphone. HTC successfully integrated Microsoft’s technology in their products by installing the Windows Mobile 6.1 OS on the HTC Snap. With the likes of GPS, 3G HSDPA, and Wi-Fi support the HTC Snap will be looking to match the previous successes of the Nokia E71 or the Blackberry Curve. It looks as though the £300 needed to purchase this mobile will be worth it once it is in the market.

The Inner Circle
HTC markets the Snap as having an exceptional piece of software they call the Inner Circle. Some argue that this feature has more bark than it has bite. All it actually does is filter out emails so that users will only receive messages from preset contacts. Nonetheless, it is quite a useful feature and surely something you will use once you get your hands on the HTC Snap. Moreover, it is almost a certainty that other manufacturers will include a similar program in their future Smartphones.

Other Features
The design of the HTC Snap shows some semblance of the Blackberry Curve. It is sleek and sexy—it weighs a mere 120g and is less than half an inch thick. The QWERTY keyboard is highly impressive as the buttons are larger than usual. This makes typing emails and text messages much easier for users. The HTC Snap also comes with a trackball that has an adjustable sensitivity to fit your scrolling preferences. However at only 2 megapixels, the camera will not be able to give you professional-looking photographs.

HTC has also included some applications used for its touch screen devices on the HTC Snap. The MP3 player and the photo viewer, for instance, are additions that make the overall functionality of the mobile a bit better. The Smartphone makes use of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.1 OS, one of the best operating systems in the market today. However, this OS version still has its share of quirks that users can live without.
