Nokia-7020-grey-openIf you could have a phone that is both strikingly fashionable and extremely functional, wouldn’t you be in mobile heaven? Add to that another F-word – frugal – and chances are, you wouldn’t be looking at another device in a long time. The Nokia 7020 delivers all of these characteristics at a price tag (£77) that won’t burn a hole through your pocket.

For starters, the Nokia 7020 is very attractively designed. The metal finish of the phone is shimmery, vibrant and quite interactive as well. You tap twice on its front screen and you get a burst of colour, almost akin to a scattering of glitter. All of that just so you can take at look at the time or call and message logs.

The latest flip phone from Nokia also packs some heavy duty applications. For starters, it has Java support and Flash Lite 3.0. The phone also enables access to a host of Ovi services such as Ovi Mail, Ovi Contacts, Ovi Store and others. Nokia Messaging is incorporated on this phone which should make for robust IM and e-mail functions. There’s also the Nokia Life Tools which will be an indispensable productivity tool for consumers who live in remote areas, such as farmers and students.

Internet connectivity is very much satisfactory on this device what with XHTML, HTML and WAP support amongst others. Nokia has got social networking covered on this phone as well. You can easily keep in touch and share media with your Facebook and MySpace networks.

The Nokia 7020 also comes with multimedia features such as a 2MP camera and an MP3 player. The music player is able to play MP4, M4A, WMA and AAC sound formats just to name a few. The 7020, together with the Nokia 2730 and 2720, is being marketed to consumers from emerging markets but other mobile phone users will also surely want to get a hold of this unit.
