Maximise Social Networking through the LG GT505

July 5th, 2009 by Best Mobile Contracts
lg-gt505-and-gw520Social networking communities are the rage these days and it was only a matter of time before someone took notice of this growing trend. The recently launched LG GT505 promises to provide effortless interaction with online social communities where users will be able to edit their networking pages, upload photos and update their status via their mobile.

Users of the LG GT505 will also be provided with instant alerts to their social network’s activities. This is possible because LG has incorporated push technology into the phone – a significant innovation as, whilst there are other phones featuring social networking functions, the LG GT505 is the first to utilise push technology for this feature. There are, as yet, no details as to which networking sites will be supported on the device.

Apart from social networking, the LG GT505 is also designed to make navigation a snap what with a built-in GPS, A-GPS support and a free trial of the turn by turn solution, WisePilot. With WisePilot, you get clear voice instructions and a choice between 2D and full colour, 3D mapping.

The LG GT505 comes with 3G support as well as WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. It has Java MIDP 2.0, WAP and HTML browser support. Its memory is expandable to as much as 16 GB.

The 5MP camera boasts of a 2592 x 1944 resolution with autofocus and geo-tagging functions. A secondary camera is available for video calling. The phone’s media player is compatible with MP3 and MPEG4 file formats. There are also productivity tools available on this mobile – it has an organiser, voice memo function and a document viewer that allows you to open Word, Excel and PDF files.

The LG GT505 was introduced together with another social networking phone, the LG GW520 and these two are a follow-up to the well-received LG KS360. Expect the LG GT505 to hit store shelves this June with pricing details yet to be disclosed.
