Most of the Nokia E Series phones are messaging phones and you would expect that this latest model would also sport a QWERTY keyboard, but it doesn’t. Instead, it is fitted with a standard keypad but does this take away from the value of the phone? I think not. As a matter of fact, this latest device from Nokia, is predicted to be one of the more popular smartphones in the market as it puts forward a variety of highly efficient functions.Messaging, of course, is adequately provided for on the Nokia E52. E-mail support is robust with push e-mail via the Nokia Messaging client. It is also incorporated with the Mail for Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes Traveller software. You can maintain both personal and business accounts on this device. Text messaging is outfitted with predictive text input for faster typing and MMS is fully supported plus the phone allows for automatic image resizing when sending image files. IM options include Windows Live, OMA IM and Ovi Contacts amongst others.
Another major feature of this phone is talk time. It provides eight long hours plus a standby time of up to 28 days. Call quality is further enhanced with the noise reduction technology that cancels out any disturbance while a call is in progress. The Nokia E52 is 3G enabled, something that you would expect from a smartphone of this calibre.
If your idea of an excellent phone is a device that helps you achieve more, you won’t be disappointed with the E52. Nokia put in place a host of applications that make this device a truly comprehensive mobile. It has support for Java, Flash Lite 3.0, a variety of Nokia applications and personal information management tools. It even has an A-GPS equipped with compass and, naturally, pre-loaded with Nokia Maps.
Now some users might prefer the QWERTY keyboard-equipped E71 or perhaps the E55, but really, looking at features, the E52 is still a great option. Expect this device by the third or fourth quarter of 2009 at £211.
