nokia_6790_surge_mako-480x379Also known as the Nokia Surge in the American market, the new 6760 Slide is Nokia’s newest messaging optimized mobile phone. It is equipped with a side-slider of a QWERTY keyboard that provides users with the best means of composing messages. It will also come with applications for social networking sites such as MySpace, Twitter, and Facebook. Other than that, the 6760 will also be sporting a host of impressive features that will surely make it stand out.

Spec List

The Nokia 6760 Slide will have the dimensions of 97.5 x 57.9 x 15.5 mm and a weight of 123.9 grams. It comes with a 2.4-inch TFT screen with a 320 x 240-pixel resolution which can display up to 16 million colours. Support for GPRS, HSCSD, EDGE, 3G, and Bluetooth will be on board. However, a notable absence is WLAN support which means you won’t be able to use Wi-Fi to get online. The 6760 is a quad band 2G mobile and will also work in the 3G network for HSDPA 2100.

Multimedia on Your Mobile

Aside from the previously mentioned social networking apps, the 6760 will also be equipped with a variety of features that reinforces the device’s hold on the younger target market. Multimedia features include a 3.15-Megapixel camera, an FM radio, and support for other media applications such as Video Share and JuiceCaster. However, it’s not all fun on the 6760 as it will also have a Quick Office application for handling Microsoft Office files, as well as Mail for Exchange for easy Outlook integration.

3GP and MPEG4 videos can be run by its built-in video player, while its music player is compatible with MP3, WAV, and AAC audio files. However, one disadvantage of the 6760 is that it comes with a 2.5 mm ear jack that isn’t compatible with most standard headsets in the market today.
