Following in the successful footsteps of previously released ROKR models in recent years, Motorola has announced their intention to add another member to the family in the form of the new Motorola ROKR ZN50. Once it is released, this device will also be one of the best music mobiles in the market – an esteemed distinction garnered by most, if not all of its predecessors.
The Look
The ROKR ZN50 is the first ever Motorola mobile to sport the panorama view. Along with a 3.2-inch TFT resistive touch screen (256K colours; 240 x 427 pixels), this device will have a slider form factor. The ROKR ZN50 is a bit on the heavy side with a total weight of 143 grams; its dimensions are 108.9 x 54 x 14.3 mm.
The colour combination of the ROKR ZN50 is quite attractive. The sleek black finish around the screen is beautifully accentuated by the standard keypad which reveals its bright red shade once it slides out.
Specifications
As a mobile phone, the ROKR ZN50 will be a tri band GSM mobile and will also work in the HSDPA 2100 over the 3G network. Aside from HSCSD and WLAN, all the other types of data connectivity will be supported including GPRS, EDGE, 3G, and Bluetooth.
Music lovers will definitely adore the ROKR ZN50 with its multi-format music player that will be compatible with MP3, eAAC, and WMA files. The built-n equalizer combined with SRS WOW HD technology on the device guarantees excellent audio output. For a little privacy, music aficionados can make use of any standard headset and plug it into the mobile’s 3.5 mm ear jack.
Perhaps the only glaring downside of the Motorola ROKR ZN50 is its mediocre 3.15-Megapixel camera. This is definitely not up to recent standards especially if you consider the fact that this is supposed to be an all-out multimedia-centric mobile.
