If there’s any doubt about a budget QWERTY slider phone, the new Samsung B3310 should clear that out. Korean mobile phone giant Samsung has released photos of this handset due out in late September this year.  Already available in France, the new Samsung handset is covering the low-end markets consisting of the young and trendy wanting to get their first taste of a QWERTY slider without the hefty price associated with phones in this category.
Excellent Features on a Budget Phone
It’s a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE mobile phone in a slim 91 x 54 x 17mm size QWERTY slider weighing just over a hundred grams. Pocket friendly to match its wallet-friendly price, the Samsung B3320 will come fashionably trendy and hip as well with a striking pastel pink or blue color scheme that lends playfulness on a rather serious QWERTY slider form.
It sports a 2 inch TFT QVGA touchscreen supporting a modest 256k color depth.  This feature alone easily betrays its budget category but on closer inspection, it has the features that do the job as a messaging and social networking phone a satisfying mobile experience.
Its homescreen features one-click access to you MySpace, Facebook and Flickr. Its usual nod to the multimedia mobile phone trend starts with a capable media player supporting the popular audio and video codecs and an FM radio thrown in. A decent but modest 2.0 megapixel snapper can take in QVGA video recording as well. There’s Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR with support for A2DP and micro SD support Talk time is a modest 5 hours on GSM with a respectable standby time of 15 days.
Verdict
Positioned as a budget touchscreen QWERTY Slider, the Samsung B3310 fills the need for a practical communicator few people though possible.  Its price won’t get you WiFi, 3G or a generous memory. But its feature set housed in a trendy QWERTY slider is sure to win crowds wanting its form factor.
