LG Chocolate BL20 Gets Official

September 25th, 2009 by Simon

LG Chocolate BL20Two days ago we promised that as soon as we had more details on the LG Chocolate BL20 we would bring you and update; well, there are now some official details available for us to share!

The Black Label BL20 mobile phone is the smaller, less expensive, touchscreen free counterpart to the top of the line BL40 handset.

It has the popular slide design and is likely, although this cannot yet be confirmed, to use the S class user interface that up until now has regularly been used on only more powerful devices.

We can now tell you that the LG Chocolate BL20 has a 5 mega pixel mixel camera, a 2.4 inch non touchscreen display and supports HSDPA connectivity up to 3.6 Mbps. It also uses Bluetooth 2.1 and has a USB 2.0 port, as well as a microSD card slot for adding additional memory which supports of to 16 GB.

Because the BL20 has been designed for a middle of the road price tag it is very impressive; both in terms of looks, (it really does have the look of a far more expensive, high end handset,) and specs – although we are sad to say that it wont be using GPS or Wi Fi, which is unfortunate.

While there is currently still no official release date to go with these official specs, the fact that the BL20 now has a live web page points to the fact that it will be available to us before Christmas.

Both October and November are going to see a lot of new and unique mobile phones hit our shelves, let’s hope the Chocolate doesn’t melt under the pressure.
