Nokia N97 Mini Coming This Week

October 29th, 2009 by Simon

Nokia N97 MiniMobile phone manufacturer Nokia has just announced that the Nokia N97 Mini handset could be reaching shelves as soon as this week. The N97 Mini is a cut down, slimmer version of the popular high end N97, which we figure you more or less got from the name. What we love about the N97 Mini is that it has the same functions as its bulkier big brother, just in a smaller, slicker body.

Some of the specs you can expect to see in the Nokia N97 Mini include a neat tilting touch screen display that sits at 3.2 inches, a homepage that can be completely customised and a high quality full QWERTY keyboard that is just big enough to work and just small enough to fit the N97 Mini’s slim frame. Nokia stated that the cost for the device before taxes would be set at 450 Euros, or approximately £404.

The Nokia N97 hasn’t been neglected as a result of the release, with a new update to its firmware having just been released, bringing it to version 2.0. According to the company you can get the update from their website; it has also been announced that it will be followed by the addition of support in more countries on more carriers, which is good news all around.

The vice president of Nokia’s N Series, Jose Luis Martinez stated; “In September, 2009, we exceeded 2 million Nokia N97 devices sold, and now introduce the Nokia N97 mini, underscoring the success of the design. We have also listened to consumer feedback about the performance of the device. The Nokia N97 software update 2.0 is a way for us to optimise the device and add new features and functions.”

Of course the new update could be a way to comfort customers who bought a standard N97 before the Mini came out only a short time later, but we wont speculate on that.
