Sending an SMS message is pretty easy for most people with a keypad, but getting a keyboard certainly helps, and while it does not guarantee that you will get work done faster, people will be more inclined to write properly. The catch with mobile phones that use keyboards is that designing a layout is always difficult. Fortunately, the Genio TXT has a simple yet easy to use keyboard layout. While other keyboards are hard to use for people with larger fingers, the Genio TXT is much easier thanks to the protruding button setup.
Looks Like a BlackBerry
Fans of the BlackBerry will definitely find the face of the Samsung Genio TXT pleasantly familiar. There really is not much room for variation when your keyboard is taking up a large space on the mobile phone face. The screen really does get pushed up and while the manufacturer could have gone for a slide out keyboard and a rotating display, you would lose the capability of using the phone with just one hand.
Keyboard over a Screen
Obviously, this device is meant for people who love their messages. As compared to the screen size of the other Genio phones in the series, this one only has 2.2 inches. The amount of screen the other Genio phones have is about 2.8 inches onwards. That is a lot of screen space sacrificed for the ability to write messages faster.
Should You Get It?
If you are the kind of mobile phone user who starts and ends your day by sending out hundreds of messages, then by all means get this device. The Samsung designed the Genio TXT specifically for this purpose and it certainly does that job well. While it does have other features such as multimedia playback, and a 2 mega pixel camera, it is still a better idea to look at other models instead, preferably one with a bigger screen.
