It is a given that the better looking mobile phones are those that really catch your eye. The Samsung i5700 Galaxy Lite is one such phone. Okay, before we get into that, we are going to confirm that so far, all we have seen are pre-production models. While we are totally in love with the bright green back casing and the enamel white front surface, these details could very well change before production. If Samsung decides to go with old boring black gloss finish, we are taking back our exaltations and praises for another more deserving mobile phone.
Lite Packs Something Heavy
The i5700 Galaxy Lite retains almost all of the original i7500’s features. This means you get quad band 3G coverage. The network capabilities of this phone checks off EDGE, GPRS, HSDPA and wireless LAN (Wi-Fi), so you know you can stay very well connected anywhere with this device. The Galaxy Lite also runs on Android so expect a great majority of mobile Google apps to be available for your phone.
The Android Edge and More
With Google apps, you get access to Gmail, GTalk, Google Maps and even YouTube, combined with the Android web kit, you have got a complete mobile resource center anywhere you go. The media playback capability is also retained and so is the battery. Hopefully, this still uses the original Qualcomm MSM7200a since that processor can run Android and the apps really well…that or an even faster processor.
The Lite Explained
So if this device has everything that the old Galaxy had, why is this Lite? Because Samsung is taking a huge chunk off your internal storage capacity; instead of having 8GB of internal memory, the Lite only has 1GB. Forget the fact that the camera switched from 5 mega pixels to 3.2 mega pixels. It is the loss of internal memory that has really gives this change a sad note.
