Vodafone UK to Carry HTC HD2

November 13th, 2009 by Best Mobile Contracts

HTC HD2Major UK carrier Vodafone will be offering the HTC HD2 across several European territories. While O2 and T-mobile are also confirmed to be carrying the HTC HD2 soon, Vodafone holds temporary exclusivity of the device. For a £35 per month plan (for two years and six months), you can get the HTC HD2 for free; that is already a good offer, but Vodafone is also offering the device free at £40 for a shorter period of eighteen months. Vodafone has other contract plans available (including a £45 plan with plenty of free minutes) which are perfect for those who want the HD2 but are on a budget.

Vodafone UK is a major British mobile network operator. Formerly known as the Racal Telecom under Racal Electronics, the company switched to the now-familiar Vodafone name in September of 1991.  Since then Vodafone has grown consistently throughout the year into the major giant it is now. During that time, Vodafone was first to launch a 3G network in the United Kingdom, and it moved on to dominate the mobile market in Ireland as well and introduce camera phones in Japan.

The HTC HD2 is a Windows Mobile smart phone that uses a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor. This high-tier hardware is what has made the HD2 a much sought after device. It also has a large 4.3 inch capacitive WVGA touch screen display –one of the largest display screens for mobile phones. Despite the width, the HD2 weighs in at about 157 grams and is impressively slim at 0.43 inches.

As a 3G smart phone, the HD2 is a quad band device with 3G HSDPA, GPRS, EDGE and WiFi. It also supports A-GPS, Bluetooth, microSD cards, and micro USB. The HD2 also features a 5 mega pixel camera with autofocus and dual LED light.
