Nokia is showing the world how a luxury phone should be made, not like that shameful luxury company Bellperre that misuses rare woods. Anyway, the Nokia 6700 just received a very stylish version of the Midas touch; a full re-styling, in gold.
Featuring 18 carat gold linings, the new 6700 focuses on external trimmings more than anything else; internally, the device is hardly any different than the original Nokia 6700.
One look at the Nokia 6700 Gold Edition will definitely grab anyone’s attention, very few other devices can be so, shiny. The price matches the new tag, with the Gold edition label comes a nice Gold edition price. At 370 Euro, this mid-spec 3G device is only for those who truly have money to burn.
In addition to the new golden casing, the phone will also have an impressive looking leather carrying case and its own custom strap. The whole package is actually a really good deal, if you are the kind of phone user who is into luxury items. To appease tech fans, Nokia is also packing in an 8GB card as well. This golden little marvel will not be around for the holidays, but it will launch early 2010.
The 6700 Gold sports all the internal specs of the original phone; it has a 5 mega pixel camera, A-GPS support and a 2.2 inch screen. The display has a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, and can display a good 16 million colors. The size of the entire device is only 110 x 45 x 11 mm, though we do not yet know if the weight has changed from the original 113 grams.
For those who are not too keen on an all-gold mobile phone, the Nokia 6700 classic is still available; also, for those who want more than just a candy bar phone, Nokia also offers the 6700 Slide.
