Aino Also gets an Update

December 10th, 2009 by Best Mobile Contracts

Sony Ericsson AinoWith the Satio heavily beset by problems it has been high-time for Sony to finally bring out a hot fix for the firmware. The fix has been out for at least a week now and while the future is still not certain for the Sony Ericsson Satio, chances are, we will see the device back on shelves for the holidays.

After the Satio got pulled out of shelves from both Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U, the Sony Ericsson Aino also got its share of problems –not in the form of actual phone problems, but of rumors that the device is also being pulled out of shelves.

Sony Ericsson already cleared up the rumors and assured everyone that the Aino is doing okay, but they have decided to be thorough; the Aino will now be receiving a firmware update to version R7AA071. This is said to optimize battery use, streamline functions for GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth access.

The Sony Ericsson Yari also received similar updates.

Apparently, whatever fixes they made to the Satio also helped SE develop a way to further improve the other mobile phones. At least now we will be seeing a pretty good holiday offering from Sony Ericsson.

New to the Aino is the inclusion of a new game, Loco Roco. Most gaming fans would be familiar with the hit PSP title. The games puts players in control of a planet, rolling sideways and bouncing up and down to guide a bizarre creature across the landscape to rid the planet of hostile creatures (which appear to be black soot-filled things). The innovative controls of the game and its simplistic graphics have made it a hit for many fans.

The updates to the Yari and Aino come at a very important time for Sony Ericsson, which, despite getting the Satio back for the holidays, has lost the X2 due to delays. The XPERIA X2 will not be part of the holiday lineup and it will be released early next year.
