It seems that the Nokia N97 isn’t the only mobile phone that the manufacturer is struggling to supply enough of to combat the demand.
It now seems that the Nokia 6700 is in short supply as well, with many distributors and dealers alike having great difficulty when it comes to tracking town the elusive device; along with, apparently, various other models.
It is not great secret that since way back in August of this year the Nokia 6700 has been in somewhat short supply and has only just started to become available once more, however there are still a number of dealers and distributors citing problems getting their hands on it.
One unnamed distributor stated that; “There has been a shortage of Nokia handsets and we have been told there have been some component issues, but that they have now been resolved.”
While a dealer is quoted as saying; “We waited eight weeks for some 6700s and received a delivery a few days ago, but only 10.”
To us it doesn’t exactly sound as though the issue has been “resolved” – although I hate to say it as a big Nokia fan, it seems to me that the company is simply stringing along their buyers with crumbs in the hopes they can soon provide supply to meet demand.
Nokia has said; “The N97, 6700, 6303 and 5800 are currently selling strongly across all channels. On some occasions, there has been a short delay in supply arriving from our factories into the UK and being distributed to our customers.”
Here’s to hoping the issue is completely resolved in time for Christmas shoppers to nab the Nokia they need.
