The Apple iPhone is undoubtedly one of the most sought after devices, ever. Despite the growing storm of Android smart phones in the mobile industry that will probably continue to rage until next year, the iPhone has quietly (and not-so-quietly) held its position on top of the mobile food chain.
UK experienced about two whole years of isolated iPhone availability -until last October, which saw the beginning of the iPhone price wars as both Orange and O2 had the device. Vodafone also announced that they too would be offering the iPhone in January next year.
In the US, AT&T currently holds the iPhone exclusively, until later in 2010 that is. Once mid-2010 arrives, the iPhone will no longer be exclusive to AT&T. Though some have thought that mobile provider Verizon would be carrying the iPhone, there lays the very plausible possibility that T-Mobile US will be joining the fray.
An analyst at Thomas Weisel stated that T-Mobile is a suitable partner for Apple in the development of product sales and marketing.
Speaking of marketing, the Apple iPhone is drawing more and more people to its user base. The electronic gaming community, composed of many tech-minded individuals who would rather spend money on computer parts, games and consoles -might want to consider getting an iPhone soon.
Unlike the almost-dead Nokia N-Gage, the Apple iPhone is offering an excellent lineup of third party games, most notably Metal Gear Solid Touch from Konami’s Kojima Productions. Capcom has also announced that they would be porting the Gyakuten Saiban series to the iPhone (known as the Phoenix Wright series outside of Japan), the first game, Ace Attorney is already being converted for the iPhone. Namco Bandai (another major game developer) is developing a new Ace Combat flight-simulation game for the iPhone called Ace Combat Xi.
