HTC Reveals Three New Handsets in Barcelona

February 17th, 2010 by Best Mobile Contracts

We reported a few months ago on some of the handsets mentioned in HTC‘s leaked 2010 roadmap, including the Bravo, Legend, Photon and HD Mini. Yesterday, day 2 of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, HTC officially unveiled these handsets for the world to see and so now we can finally get a glimpse of what these phones will have to offer.

HTC Bravo / Desire

HTC DesireFirst of all, we now know that the Bravo will actually make its way to the shelves under the name ‘Desire‘. The Desire could be thought of as HTC’s version of Google‘s Nexus One, which was also produced by HTC, but with a couple of minor alterations. Firstly, while the two devices look very similar the Desire comes with a trackpad instead of the trackball used on the Nexus One. This is only a slight alteration but does affect the functionality of navigating the phone.

Also to be noted is the fact that, while still running on Android, the Desire will also come with HTC’s latest Sense UI. This adds a number of tweaks such as easily flipping between homescreens via screen pinches, enhanced social networking integration, and of course its own appearance that separates it from the standard Android look.

The Desire has support for 3G and Wi-Fi, as well as running on a speedy 1GHz Snapdragon processor. It has a very roomy 3.7″ AMOLED screen and 5 megapixel camera they may possibly come with support for HD recording.

HTC Legend

HTC Legend (3)HTC also revealed some more information about a phone whose name has been cropping up with increasing frequency over the last few weeks, and we are quite glad to finally hear some more about it, as well as being able to actually get a look at the actual handset.

While seemingly being a step-down from the Desire, the Legend will certainly be a phone worth looking forward to. The Legend uses a 600MHz processor rather than a Snapdragon and its screen is a more compact 3.2″. Like the Desire, the Legend will also run on Android 2.1 with HTC Sense UI on top. Using the 5 megapixel camera the Legend will allow you to quickly upload your photos to Facebook, Picasa or Flickr, or your videos to YouTube. Along with Facebook integration, the Legend will also make use of ‘HTC Peep’ for twittering.

HTC Touch HD Mini

HTC HD MiniHTC HD Mini (2)The HD Mini is one device that HTC is still holding back a lot of information about for the time being, but we were able to learn a few facts about the phone. The HD Mini looks like it will be a miniaturised version of the HD2, which has proven to be quite a successful hit for HTC. The phone will also come with Sense UI but unlike the other 2 HTC phones on show the HD Mini will run on Windows Mobile 6.5.
