From the many smart phones that came out at the Mobile World Congress at Barcelona, Spain, there are some that still linger in our minds until now. And while we can waste dozens of pages rounding up all the nice things we saw, we would rather focus on the phones that appear in our minds every time we close our eyes.
The really big promise we want to see fulfilled from the MWC is Microsoft and Asus’ upcoming Windows Phone 7 device. With the phrase “the phone is not a PC”; the new mobile platform is more than just promising, it is outright revolutionary. Not even counting the early addition of Zune, Bing and Xbox Live Games makes the phone already a choice hit. Now the only real question is whether we can wait patiently enough for the next few months.
Well, not that there will be any new Windows phones to give us our fix; but the lineup of 2010’s newest Android smart phones is about to get better and better. The Google Nexus One was really satisfying in terms of sales performance, but the upcoming HTC Desire is promising to deliver the Android OS to fans everywhere – Nexus One’s accessibility is limited to the Google online store.
Sony Ericsson surprisingly offers some interesting new devices. While the XPERIA X10 is a great Android phone, we were surprised with the new Vivaz Pro. The Vivaz is a Symbian smart phone with an 8 mega pixel camera and the ability to record videos in 720p HD quality.
The Pro version loses the 8 MP cam for a 5 mega pixel snapper, but still retains the HD video recording. It also has slide out QWERTY keyboard that makes it a pretty great choice for a smart phone.
