Samsung S3370 Exclusive to 3

May 21st, 2010 by Caroline

Samsung S3370The brand new Samsung S3370 will be sold exclusively through the 3 network and offers many of the features of a high-end device for a smaller price.

Also known as the Samsung Corby 3G, Samsung Acton and Samsung Pocket 3G, the Samsung S3370 is a 2.6 inch touchscreen phone with a compact and light (86g) frame.

Smaller and lighter than the HTC Tattoo, the S3370’s screen may not be as big as the Tattoo’s 2.8 inch but it does also sport resistive technology. This means you need to exert a little more pressure for the screen to register your requests – the good news, though, is that once you get used to this you shouldn’t have any issue and unlike smartphones such as the Desire or iPhone which have capacitive screens, you’re unlikely to accidently launch apps with a brush of the screen.

Commenting on the new Samsung phone, head of branded devices for Three UK, Sylvia Chind said: “We’re exited to be ranging the Samsung S3370. It’s the first branded touch device to be specifically tailored to our Pay As You Go customers. Together with our strong 3G network this social networking phone brings our customers the internet services they love at a low price.”

The Samsung S3370 will also feature the TouchWiz 2.0 interface so you can view live updates from sites like Twitter and Facebook on the home screen. Pre-installed apps include Skype for free Skype-to-Skype calls, social networking apps and Windows Live Messenger for instant messaging. Connection is good on this phone as there is support for 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as USB. This means you can access the internet easily and download or transfer songs onto the S3370.

The phone also has an FM radio, a speakerphone and DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine) technology. There is a camera too, albeit basic with just 1.3-megapixels.
