HTC’s upcoming smart phone, the Vision has the potential to make many Android dreams come true (aside from electric sheep that is). While Motorola’s Droid/Milestone was the very first smart phone to combine the impressive open source, Google developed mobile platform with the practical presence of the keyboard, the device still lacked one key factor to be part of the high end range: a high speed processor.
On the other hand, the new Android devices being launched come complete with all the great features with the exception of the slide out QWERTY keyboard. So far, the only device being close to giving the world and Android smart phone with a 1GHz CPU and a physical keyboard are actually rumored devices; the Samsung Galaxy S Pro and the Motorola Shadow are still unconfirmed handsets until now.
In many ways, the same applies to the HTC Vision. The Taiwanese company has yet to actually confirm that the phone is already under development, though there is something that is promising about the handset that makes people want to look forward to it.
The HTC Vision is basically a keyboard upgrade to the HTC Desire. This means that the two handsets share very similar specifications and even phone designs, though expect that the Vision would already be equipped with a few small updates. For one thing, the new phone is reported to come packed with Android 2.2 Froyo, which potentially makes the device the very first Android smart phone to get the updated operating system after the Google Nexus One.
Specs wise, the Vision is predictable; the phone will have a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen display, a 5 mega pixel camera, and a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU. Of course, the HTC Sense user interface will also be used. No word yet if the internal memory and the RAM has been updated.
