Acer has launched its latest high-end smartphone, the Acer Stream.
Designed with media in mind, the Acer Stream is packed full of features and technology that enable high quality aural and visual performance.
The 3.7 inch AMOLED touchscreen supports 16 million colours and is enhanced by the inclusion of touch-sensitive controls along the bottom. The Android UI has the Acer Touch 3D UI on top, so the user experience is enjoyable thanks to tweaks such as app history shortcuts. And measuring just 11.2mm, the Stream is slim and portable.
As you may have guessed from its name, this smartphone is great for streaming videos and music via Wi-Fi, which you can happily watch onscreen or link up to your TV using the HDMI connectivity.
Powered by Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon processor, the Android 2.1 OS is upgradable to the Android 2.2 platform. The Acer Liquid was the first Android phone to use the Snapdragon processor – although this was limited in this handset to 768MHz, for some reason.
With Dolby Mobile sound enhancement technology, speakers, a 3.5mm audio connector and dedicated music keys, listening to music on the Acer Stream is a high quality experience. And the 2GB internal memory can be boosted to up to 32GB via a microSD card, with an 8GB microSD card accompanying the smartphone to help get you started.
There is a 5-megapixel camera on the Stream which is capable of capturing 720p HD movies. As well as linking the phone to your TV for watching videos on the bigger screen, you can also easily upload images onto social networking sites like Facebook.
And as an Android smartphone, all the Google apps and features you’d expect are included such as Google Search and Google Maps.
No details have been released yet regarding the price of the handset but we’ll bring you Acer Stream deals as soon as we can. The launch date is also unconfirmed but you can read Acer Stream reviews in the meantime, to find out more about this Android-powered device.
