Dell Streak Deals Now Available Exclusively on O2

June 4th, 2010 by Caroline

Dell Streak frontThe mini iPad, the smartphone-laptop hybrid – however you like to think of the new Dell Streak, the handset is now available to buy on the O2 network.

The new Dell device has a 5 inch Gorilla Glass touchscreen with support for multi-touch. So viewing and interacting is vibrant and swift, ideal for watching movies or web pages. Thanks to the generous size of the screen, you can enjoy full-screen web browsing and with Flash support, streaming videos onto the big screen should be effortless (when the Android 1.6 OS is upgraded to Android 2.2 Froyo later in 2010).

Described as having the power of a laptop but the size of a smartphone, the Dell Streak offers you the best of both worlds. You can make calls and capture photos and videos – unlike the Apple iPad – while benefiting from a 5 inch screen and powerful processor. The Streak has a 1GHz Snapdragon processor onboard together with 512RAM so using all the features and switching between apps will be quick and seamless.

As an Android device, the Dell Streak comes with a range of apps inbuilt for entertainment and social networking. Instant access to Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Flickr and email is available, and the Google Maps app comes with turn-by-turn navigation. And with access to the Android Market, there are 1000s of games, apps and features which you can browse and download onto the Streak.

Storage space won’t be an issue either on the Streak as it houses 16GB of memory and with a microSD card this is boosted to up to 32GB. So adding your music collection, storing images and videos, and downloading extra features, will be supported.

The Dell Streak is not the smallest smartphone on the market, measuring 152.9 x 79.1 x 9.98mm and weighing 220g. Compare this to the HTC HD2 mobile which has a by-normal-standards large screen (4.3 inches), and weighs 157g, the Streak is pretty heavy. However, it is more than a phone – it is a tablet-smartphone hybrid, and yet remains portable even if you can’t pop it in your pocket quite as easily as other devices.Dell Streak reverse
