Huawei G7002 Deals Available on O2

June 7th, 2010 by Caroline

Huawei G7002The first own-branded mobile phone to be launched by Huawei in the UK is the Huawei G7002 – and is now available through O2.

The G7002 measures 98.4 x 51.3 x 13.6mm, making it pocket-friendly and portable. The phone weighs only 95g so you will hardly notice this device in your pocket or handbag.

To glance at, the phone resembles the Samsung S3650 Genio, but the handset itself is more basic – the Huawei G7002 deals are very cheap on Pay As You Go on O2. Designed for the smallest budget and for those who want a touchscreen phone, the G7002 has a 2.4 inch resistive screen and 3 physical keys for making/ending calls and accessing the menu. Like other phones with resistive screens, such as the HTC Tattoo, you will need to apply a certain amount of pressure in order to register your requests – but once you get used to this, you should be able to interact easily.

Huawei has manufactured many phones previously, although in the UK these have been branded for various companies. For example, the T-Mobile Pulse was built by Huawei.

Mobile Today has reported that O2 general manger of group and UK devices, Steve Alder said: “We are pleased to be partnering with Huawei to bring the G7002 to our customers. The G7002 makes owning a touch screen phone even more affordable and helps us continue to offer a great range of products to our customers.”

And Huawei UK and Ireland general manager of devices, Nicola Philbin said: “Huawei is committed to providing high-quality tailor-made handsets to customers, and the launch of the G7002 reflects our flexible branding strategy based on individual operator needs.”

The basic handset comes with a 1.3-megapixel camera with video camera, FM radio and music player, a 2MB memory card and microSD card slot, and Bluetooth. To find out more about this new Huawei phone, you can read our G7002 reviews.
