New Greenheart Phone Rumors

June 15th, 2010 by Liam

sony-ericsson-logoSony Ericsson has been making a very serious comeback. After a couple of years of bad financial performance, the company is slowly gaining ground and is slowly growing back to the big company that it used to be. The great thing about Sony is that despite their earnest efforts, they have not forgotten their commitment to the world.

Greenpeace currently ranks Sony Ericsson as the second most eco friendly electronics manufacturer in the whole world –a close second only to Finnish manufacturer Nokia. The recognition was given early this year as Greenpeace released its list for 2010, which showed that the two top companies are a distant top over all the others.

In this case, no details about what makes the mobile device so unique has yet to be noted. The Hong will be the fourth Greenheart device for the year, following the SE Hazel, Elm and Aspen.

While details about this new phone have yet to be revealed, we can be sure that it will be complying with the Greenheart standard for mobile handsets. First off, the device will be made of more than 50% recycled plastic. With the large quantities of waste that mobile phones leave each year, the move to make use of recycled plastic is important and should be considered by all mobile phone manufacturers.

The Hong will also not be using toxic chemicals. The paint used in the handset is made of water borne paint as well as non-toxic solutions. Lastly, the device’s manual will not be printed on paper, in fact, it will not be printed at all. In order to conserve resources, e-manuals will be used instead –these are instructions that are already included within the software of the phone itself for easy reference.
