The latest unofficial date for the Nokia N8 is now the 24 August – still a little while away for those of you clambering to get your hands on Nokia’s newest high-end smartphone. But we’ll sure it will be worth the wait.
From the design to the inbuilt technology, the Nokia N8 is impressive. The case is made from anodized aluminium and looks contemporary and distinctive; and the new Symbian 3 OS promises to ensure the N8 will run far quicker than the popular N97 handset.
However, the most impressive feature of this new Nokia is its camera. Not only are there 12-megapixels, a Xenon flash and Carl Zeiss lens, but the video has HD capabilities. So now you really can ditch your digital camera and just take your Nokia N8 with you, for taking photos and shooting high-quality videos, wherever you go. And editing images is a doddle too as the N8 has software onboard that lets you edit pictures, even adding text and music if you want.
The social networking abilities are as advanced as you’d expect on such a high-end device. Once snapped, you can share your photos and videos instantly with friends online, uploading onto sites like Facebook and YouTube – or sending via MMS or email. All Facebook updates are displayed on the home screen and when you click on each friend’s profile, you’ll see all the communication linked with them in the one place, including tweets, texts and emails.
The 3.5 inch screen on the N8 supports all the handset’s visual capabilities. Using OLED capacitive technology, and supporting multi-touch, ensures the display is bright and clear as well as super-responsive to your presses and swipes. And for those moments you want to share images on a larger screen, you can use the TV-out option via the HDMI connection.
