Samsung Brings Budget Dual Sim and 3G Handsets

June 15th, 2010 by Liam

Samsung-B7722There is a definitive need for low range smart phones. After all, not everyone is willing to spend so much on high end smart phones loaded with impressive operating systems to fill will hundreds of apps. Some people are simply content being able to browse the net on a mobile browser, send email and upload the occasional photo or two. No GPS, no fancy technologies, just a simple smart phone, and Samsung has two devices lined up just for this market.

The first is the dual SIM handset, the Samsung B7722. You may have remembered this mobile device as being released in China earlier under the name of B7702. While the device does not seem to have changed much, it got a small name change before getting shipped to the UK.

Specs wise, it’s a pretty decent smart phone; it has a 3.2 inch touch screen display, a 5 megapixel camera, support for up to 8GB micro SD cards, and more. Of course, the biggest feature of this handset is that it has dual SIM support and not just having two SIMs –but rather, having two SIMs on standby mode. According to reports, this handset has already been announced officially by Samsung for a release in Sweden. Many expect a UK launch soon.

The next Samsung low end smart phone is the Corby 3G S3370. It is the latest addition to the Corby series (aside from the Android Corby) and brings together a smart choice of phone features along with a very minimalist approach to design. The phone still retains that old Corby feel of being fresh and young, but with more somber, serious color palettes.

As a handset, this device is very low end, but if all you need is a browsing mobile phone, it is hard to go wrong with this 2.6 inch screen, 1.3 mega pixel, TouchWiz handset.
