June 2nd, 2010 by Simon

Samsung ChampSamsung is a name in the mobile phone industry that has been known to design phones that have style, class and a rich spec-list will help you stay in touch anywhere, anytime and with anyone on the planet. The latest from its arsenal is the Samsung Champ C3300, which as the name depicts is simply a ‘Champion’ in its class. Specifically crafted for all those who have long been awaiting the release of an affordable handset under the Samsung Bandwagon, this one from Samsung is a touchscreen phone with a compact design and is touted to be one of the cheapest of any touchscreen devices to be launched to-date. With these rumours circulating we cannot wait to see what Samsung Champ deals become available as they should be very rewarding indeed.

Announced officially as the successor to the S5230 Star, this one targets all those users who are long awaiting to get a hands on experience of a touch screen phone, but till now could not for the high price that came with. The most affordable of all smart phones from Samsung, this one is simply a breathtaking piece of technology here to take over the mobile industry by storm.

Navigation

As you might have guessed, this phone uses touch navigation. Just like with most touch screens, if you prefer, you can use a stylus for more traditional use. For easier on the go use, however, the 2.7” touch screen is ready for your fingers.

Storage

Samsung Champ (2)The 3300 has a microSD card capacity of 8GB, which is relatively large. Eight gigabytes translates to 2,000 songs (at 4 MB per song), or 16 full length movies (at 1 GB per film). With its larger capacity, this phone can make up for photo quality with an exemplary microSD card size.

Battery Life

The Champ’s outstanding battery supports a standby time of up to 660 hours (that’s 27.5 days!), or 12 hours of talk time. This means those days you forget to charge your phone won’t be a problem, The 3300 will stay on all day.

Of course, as with all batteries, use without charging will hurt the abttery and wear it down. Despite the long battery life, you should charge the phone every night to make sure your battery is useable for as long as possible.

Camera

Unfortunately, the Champ doesn’t measure up when it comes to its camera. With only 1.3MP, the phone has a worse camera then many much older phones. However, for photos that will only be viewed on the phone, 1.3 MP is not horrible. The photos will not, however, look good blown up on a computer screen, or on a print.

There is an upside to the lower photo quality, however. A lower photo resolution will result in a smaller file size for the photo. This fact, combined with the vast 8GB storage capacity, means that you can store exponentially more photos than other competing phones can.

Music

Samsung Champ (3)The Samsung Champ 3300 is a great MP3 player on top of its phone capabilities. With an 8GB SD card, once can store up to 2,000 songs (at 4MB per song). Interestingly enough, this phone exhibits stereo speakers, ensuring realistic, high quality sound. On top of great speakers, the phone also has a 3.5mm audio jack to allow the user to easily listen to music on the go and in private.

On the phone, as well as through computer transfer, you can add music to your library on the phone. This is great, because with the larger storage capacity of the phone, you can have a small livrary of music to fit whatever mood you’re in.

Widget Support

Packing an amazing support for widgets, Cartoon UI and also virtual desktop, this has in it an integrated social networking feature alongside multiple IM too. Staying connected with all your friends and loved ones will now be a very easy and hassle-free task with this mobile that you can carry as the way to stay connected with all and anyone on the planet.
