Samsung Wave 2 Deals Arriving in UK in August

June 23rd, 2010 by Caroline

Samsung Wave 2The word on the internet is that Samsung’s latest device, the Wave 2, could be available in the UK as soon as August.

Although not officially confirmed by the company, if true this would mean both Samsung Wave 2 deals and Wave 2 Pro deals would be available during the summer month.

The Pro is the same device but with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, similar in concept to the X10 Mini Pro handset by Sony Ericsson which is the QWERTY version of the X10 Mini.

According to TechRadar, the Wave 2 phone was originally destined for Russia and South East Asia but Samsung’s lead on the Bada platform, Justin Hong, is keen to release the newest Bada-based phone in the UK – apparently it “depends on operators”.

Designed to appeal to phone users on a smaller budget than the Samsung Wave’s audience, the Samsung Wave 2 will sport the Bada OS together with a number of social networking features. There will be apps for Facebook and Twitter, and all messages will be shown on the one screen, similar to the Friend Stream on HTC phones like the Desire and the MotoBlur feature found on the Motorola Quench phone. Other features include Wi-Fi and a 3.2-megapixel camera, and you can read our Wave 2 reviews to discover more details on this newest Samsung device.

Paul Wilkens, marketing director for Samsung Mobile UK said: “One of the great things about the Bada platform is it’s so configurable. We can apply it to the high end Wave, or to the [cheaper] Wave 2 Pro; we can apply it to 2 CPU and 1 CPU devices – other platforms cannot drill down to so many types of phones.”
