There is going to be plenty of new devices coming out this week –or at least getting revealed as Samsung takes the stage and presents a whole new set of devices that are going to change your current smart phone wish lists.
Heading the lineup of expected Samsung handsets is two of their own Bada devices. The already released Samsung Wave did not do too well against its Android competitors, but there has been enough support for the Bada operating system to show the world that it is also a great mobile platform. Samsung has confirmed that it will be announcing the Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro. As one might expect, the Pro edition of the handset will come with an additional slide out QWERTY keyboard.
Samsung is also going to be bringing a new Windows handset, the Omnia Pro 4. For now, it is only speculated that the phone will be supporting the Windows Phone 7 operating system. With Microsoft’s announcement that the first WP7 devices are going to come out by October of this year, the device seems to fit the bill –it also coincides with previous rumors of an unnamed, upcoming WP7 super AMOLED handset from Samsung. With the Omnia series already reserved for Windows devices, we consider this a very likely chance to spot the WP7 in action.
The Android operating system is also getting plenty of love from the Korean manufacturer. Aside from the previous news of the new Galaxy Tape tablet device, they also have a couple more handsets to offer fans of Google’s mobile platform. First up is the Corby i5500 which is a low end device geared to bring the Android to the younger market of smart phone users. The i8520 Beam on the other hand, is a multimedia centric Android device that comes with an 8 mega pixel camera, 720p video recording, a super AMOLED touch screen and an 800MHz CPU.
