The Xperia X10 Mini is a little powerhouse of a smartphone – and you can now buy the handset in a lime green edition, exclusive to Orange.
A scaled-down version of the original Xperia X10, the X10 Mini is compact and portable yet feature-rich and swift. The phone has the Sony Ericsson Timescape UI which has social networking integration including displaying all your communication in the one place. Updates and messages from Facebook and Twitter, emails, texts, missed calls and more are all shown on the one screen so you can effortlessly manage your busy social and work life. This feature functions in a similar way to the Friend Stream on the HTC Desire. And like the Desire, the X10 Mini also links communication to each contact so you can click on a friend’s profile and see all the messages related to that person.
The screen may be relatively small by smartphone standards – it can’t compete with the Dell Streak’s 5 inch screen, for example – at only 2.55 inches. However, the whole point of the Xperia X10 Mini is that it is a small, powerful mobile phone. And little touches like the customisable shortcuts in the four corners of the screen enhance the user experience. In addition, the capacitive technology ensures the screen is responsive and, with support for 16 million colours, is bright and colourful too.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini also comes with media abilities, letting you listen to music and watch videos on the handset. The 5-megapixel camera has a video option for recording your own footage; and with excellent connection through 3G and Wi-Fi, uploading images onto social networking sites or via MMS and email is fast and glitch-free – boosted by the 600MHz internal processor.
And on Orange, you can now get Xperia X10 Mini deals that include a lime edition of the smartphone. Available currently in lime on pay monthly tariffs, it is described on Orange’s website as “coming soon” on PAYG deals.
This popular miniature Google Android phone is also available with a slide-out QWERTY – the Xperia X10 Mini Pro. You can find out more about both these handsets in our Xperia X10 Mini reviews and Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro reviews.
