HTC News Wrap Up: High Demands, Apple Reaction and WP7 Launch

July 27th, 2010 by Liam

Taiwan based mobile phone manufacturer HTC has a pretty long history in the industry of electronic portable devices. They made their name with the very first Windows based Pocket PC devices that were released before the era of smart phones. They would later become a major figure in the development of the Android smart phone as an industry partner for Google.

Once again, HTC will be present at another milestone Microsoft event, the launch of the Windows Phone 7 mobile platform. While HTC will be sharing the spotlight with many other mobile phone manufacturers, it is rumored that they will be offering two devices instead of just one. The HTC Mondrian and Mozart WP7 smart phones have been on the rumor grapevine a lot lately and it seems likely that both phones will be available by the time September comes around. As for the HTC Gold which appeared in the leaked roadmap, it is believed that this device is the same handset as the HTC Mondrian.

HTC has also announced that it has acquired new production facilities in order to keep up with the increasing demand for HTC products. The recent shortages of the HTC Desire show how influential the mobile phone maker has become to the Android community. While HTC has been keeping details of their new production facility a secret –they will not even disclose the output capacity, it is believed that the company still has a long time of catching up to do. They have also denied rumors that the shortage was faked in order to create interest for the handset.

Lastly, HTC has also been taking the high road when it comes to Apple’s remarks about the HTC Droid Eris smart phone during the emergency Apple conference. Since HTC has never had a history of dropped call complaints and Droid Eris owners are happy with their handsets, it really does appear that HTC does not need to take any active roles regarding the issue.
