Leaked Roadmap Reveals HTC Devices

July 9th, 2010 by Liam

htc_logoLeaky roadmaps tend to be a great place to scope out upcoming HTC handsets. While the most recent one showcased three new devices from HTC, a previous roadmap leak from 2009 showed off more than half a dozen devices from the Taiwan based phone manufacturer. At least, the new leaked document also revealed several other handsets from other manufacturers –this time, it was not just HTC that had its upcoming plans revealed.

In any case, the three new phones from HTC in the recently leaked retailer roadmap are certainly devices to look forward to.

The phone that has us most excited would be the HTC Vision. While some people might say that a QWERTY keyboard is not that big a deal, there are millions of smart phone users who would contest that idea. One of the biggest reason why BlackBerry (and previously, Palm) devices have been spreading out so much among the general users is not for the business solutions they provide, but because RIM’s handsets make emails and text messaging much easier. Also plenty of web based interaction –such as chatting and typing in forums is made much more accessible through physical keys.

The Samsung Galaxy S Pro, Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro and the Motorola Milestone all have physical keyboards. But with HTC’s strong presence in the Android market it is understandable that people would want to see such a device to come from them.

The other HTC devices are the Gold and Ace. The Ace is another Android smart phone, though details of which have yet to be revealed. The Gold on the other hand, is actually the HTC Mondrian. This is the upcoming Windows Phone 7 handset that the Taiwanese manufacturer is preparing to launch this coming October.
