It has been recently announced that the Nokia C1 mobile phone is now available in the UK for a very low price of only 30 Pounds.
Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has been making plenty of generic handsets for the longest time and the C1-00 is the perfect example of why they have the right to make these kinds of phones –because as simple as the Nokia C1 is, it is still a well made handset.
As one would expect from the 30 Pound price tag, this phone offers nothing in terms of high end features. But it is a practical handset to own –especially for people who only concern is to have a handset for texting and messaging.
Despite the super downsized specs, the C1 still manages to offer a couple of extra features that users might appreciate. First off, the handset comes with a WAP and HTML browser with support for 2G/GSM networks. Second, the handset can also play digital music files or tune into the local FM stations. With support for microSD cards, users of the C1 handset will be able to make use of the FM recording capabilities as well as bring in their own music libraries.
Missing from this handset is a camera –which is not that big of an issue. The phone’s 1.8 inch TFT display provides a humble 128 x 160 pixels of resolution and can process up to 65 thousand colors.
The handset’s 800 mAh lithium ion battery can power the handset for up to ten hours and 40 minutes of talk time. On a full charge, the phone will last on standby for an estimated 500 hours –still, anyone using the music player or the FM radio might want to bring a travel charger or an extra battery just in case.
Also available in the C1 series are the C1-01 and the C1-02.
