The sporty handset, the Puma Phone, will be available in the UK in the next few weeks.
Made by Sagem for the sportswear brand Puma, the Puma Phone is touted as an active smartphone. If you want a handset that is both a mobile phone and a sports device, you won’t have long to wait as Puma Phone deals are coming to the UK later this month.
The bright, compact smartphone stands out thanks to its solar panel battery cover. One hour of sunlight will give you 90 minutes of music or the power to send 30 text messages. The battery itself is pretty effective and a single charge gives you up to 5 hours of talk-time or 350 hours of standby time.
The Puma Phone has a 2.8 inch touchscreen, a 3.2-megapixel camera with LED flash, and music functions. Whether you want to listen to the FM radio or your own music, this phone can be used to motivate you during a workout or help you relax on your journey home from work.
Detailed in our Puma Phone reviews, this handset has a number of sporty features too. These include a pedometer, stopwatch and GPS tracker.
Jochen Zeitz, Chairman and CEO of PUMA, said: “The PUMA Phone is consistent with everything PUMA stands for – joy, environmental responsibility and individuality. Using the device to directly connect with the PUMA community through services such as live sports feeds and mcommerce, the PUMA Phone delivers not only a rich PUMA experience, but uses sustainable technology such as integrated solar that is completely consistent with our mission to become the most desirable and sustainable sportlifestyle company.”
The Puma Phone will be offered through Puma’s website as well as through mobile phone networks – and details of the UK network providers will be announced shortly.
