The more affordable versions of the high-end smartphone, the Samsung Wave, are landing in Germany this week.
Following on from the launch of Wave 2 deals and Wave 2 Pro deals in Russia, Germany is set to make these two smartphones available for €299 each. And the hope is that the rest of Europe will get these two Samsung devices shortly too – including the UK.
Both the Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro have the same internal specifications, only the Pro comes with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The phones feature a 3.2 inch capacitive screen and run on Samsung’s own operating system, Bada. There is access to Samsung Apps to add to and complement the pre-installed ones which include Facebook and Twitter for social networking on the move.
The mobile phones have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support so you can access the internet with relative ease and share your world with friends too. Bluetooth is great for sending photos directly to your friends’ Bluetooth-enabled phones – and the inbuilt 3.2-megapixel camera lets you take some decent images or create your own movie. There is also an FM radio and MP3 player on the Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro, and each handset comes with a 3.5mm audio jack for connecting your preferred headsets.
Size wise, both are fairly compact at 109.5 x 55mm with the Wave 2 11.7mm thick and the Wave 2 Pro 15mm to house the keyboard.
Pro versions of handsets tend to be popular as they offer people the best of both worlds – a touchscreen for tapping and swiping messages and more, as well as a physical keyboard if you prefer this method of typing or for those longer emails.
We’ll keep you posted on when these Samsung phones are likely to arrive in the UK, and you can read our Wave 2 reviews and Wave 2 Pro reviews to find out more in the meantime.
