Korean phone maker seems to enjoy announcing devices by groups. Just a couple of weeks back, LG surprised us all with updates and announcement for their Android smart phone series, the Optimus line of handset by introducing a couple of new handsets to the industry. With LG’s lowered profits from the first half of 2010, it is nice to see the company building up its phone portfolio with updated and tempting choices.
Anyway, in continuing with their new announcements, LG has also recently confirmed that they are working on three new smart phones that seem based on the Cookie series they launched earlier; the Winks. There are currently three Wink handsets that have been confirmed and the handsets seem to target the mid to low end smart phone users.
Right of the bat, it is easy to tell that the devices are touch screen mobile phones, but for being really worth having, some folks might want to take a pass at these and go for the Optimus handsets instead –the Android OS along makes the choice a lot easier.

So far, the only Wink that is truly worth getting vested into would be the LG T320 Winks 3G (right). Of all three devices, this is the only device that has 3G access –which is pretty crucial in this day and age where everyone expects phone owners to have access to Twitter, Facebook and all other social networking tools. The other two touch screen devices are the T310 Wink Style (middle) and the T300 Wink (left). Both are basically 2G handsets with 2 inch touch screen displays.
It has not been revealed what user interface these handsets will be using, though many believe that LG’s S-Class UI would be a great fit on these phones. Expect to see this trio of smart phones on store shelves later this month.
