Motorola Unveils New Milestone 2 – Deals Coming Soon

September 1st, 2010 by Caroline

Motorola has today launched the successor to the Milestone smartphone.

The Milestone 2 is a powerful device which features a wide range of extras – as the company states, the phone has “more speed, more connectivity, more messaging, more storage, more web with Adobe Flash Player 10.1, more multimedia and more personalisation” compared to the original Milestone.

Run on the newest Android 2.2 platform, the Milestone 2 features an updated version of MotoBlur for effortless social networking and communication on the move, allowing you to view all your messages and emails in the one place. The new additions include resizable widgets and filtering. The Milestone 2 can also be used as a 3G hotspot to connect up to 5 Wi-Fi supported handsets – although of course, this will depend on your particular network provider.

The Milestone 2 is powered by a 1GHz processor and the camera’s video recorder has been enhanced to capture 720p HD video.

Alain Mutricy, senior vice president, portfolio and device product management, Motorola Mobility said: “MILESTONE 2 offers more power, more speed, with an improved keyboard, so users can send, access and share information even quicker than before to manage their work and personal life. This introduction not only reaffirms our commitment to innovate on Android but offers consumers the leading edge features they crave including fast web browsing, messaging, application downloads and multimedia.”

The Motorola has a 3.7 inch screen and slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a decent 8GB of internal storage with capacity for up to 40GB via a microSD card, and support for Enterprise Exchange.

Anticipated for release in the UK in Q4, there is currently no word on how much Milestone 2 deals will set you back but we’ll keep you posted on this.
