Nokia C3 Touch and Type Offers Launched

September 15th, 2010 by Caroline

It seems day two of the Nokia World has not seen the pace of the event slow as the company has today launched a fourth device in the shape of the Nokia C3 Touch and Type.

A Series 40 handset, the C3 has a traditional keyboard and touchscreen combination. Similar in concept to the BlackBerry Torch smartphone, this design offers you the best of both worlds when it comes to communication – you can choose to type on the physical keys or swipe on the 2.4 inch screen.

The C3 Touch and Type launches alongside two other C-Series mobiles, the C6-01 and C7, and the E7. If you’re not familiar with Nokia’s labelling system, basically the higher the number after the letter, the more advanced the handset is. So the C3 is fairly modest in its abilities and comes with an affordable price tag too – it is expected to cost €145 before taxes and subsidies.

For the money, C3 Touch and Type deals offer you a decent amount. The touchscreen and keypad are held in place by a 100% stainless steel case which comes in the choice of three colours: silver, warm grey, and khaki gold. The phone measures 111 x 47.5 x 11mm and the internal memory can be expanded to up to 32GB via a microSD card.

Reminiscent of other Nokia models including the 6700 and 6300, the C3 comes with support for Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity and ample Nokia goodies. There is the Communities client for accessing Facebook and Twitter, Nokia email, Nokia messaging, and plenty of additional apps and games within the Ovi Store too.

With a release date expected in Q4, we’ll keep you posted on when the Nokia C3 will land in the UK.
